PetAg Bene-Bac Plus Pet Gel – Probiotic for Pets
PetAg Bene-Bac Plus Pet Gel is a concentrated probiotic for pets that helps keep the gut healthy whenever life gets stressful. It’s suitable for cats, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters and other small mammals. Birth, weaning, hand-feeding, antibiotics, surgery, deworming, travel, boarding or a new diet can all upset the natural balance of bacteria in your pet’s gut. The result is often loose motion, poor appetite and slow recovery. Bene-Bac tops up the “good” bacteria with 7 strains of live probiotics, plus FOS, a prebiotic fibre that feeds them. It comes in an easy 15 g dosing syringe that most pets readily accept.
Why Pets Need a Probiotic
Every pet’s gut is home to billions of helpful bacteria that digest food, absorb nutrients and support immunity. Antibiotics, stress and sudden food changes can wipe out these good bacteria and let harmful ones take over. A good probiotic for pets helps restore that balance quickly, so digestion gets back on track. Young animals are especially sensitive – their gut bacteria are still developing, and orphaned or hand-fed babies miss out on the natural bacteria they would get from their mother.
Probiotic for Cats and Kittens
Loose motion is one of the most common problems in cats and kittens, especially after antibiotics, deworming, a change of food or a stressful move. As a probiotic for cats, Bene-Bac helps rebuild healthy gut bacteria for firmer stools and a settled tummy. It’s safe from birth, so it’s ideal for newborn and hand-fed kittens on milk replacer.
Probiotic for Rabbits and Guinea Pigs
Rabbits and guinea pigs have very delicate digestive systems that depend on a healthy balance of gut bacteria to break down hay and fibre. Antibiotics, stress, a sudden diet change or a new home can easily upset that balance. Bene-Bac is a gentle probiotic for rabbits and guinea pigs that helps support healthy digestion during these times. Always pair it with plenty of fresh hay, such as Kaytee Timothy Hay. If your rabbit or guinea pig stops eating or stops passing droppings, see an exotics vet immediately – this is an emergency.
Probiotic, Not Medicine
Bene-Bac is a probiotic supplement, not a medicine. See a vet straight away if your pet has loose motion for more than a day, has blood in the stool, is vomiting, stops eating or seems weak. Young and small animals can become dehydrated very quickly.

Hand-fed orphans: increase to ½ to 1 gram on days 7 and 14, and when starting solid food.
After weaning and adults: 1 gram for pets up to 4.5 kg (this covers most cats, rabbits and guinea pigs). Add 1 gram for each extra 4.5 kg, up to 23 kg. Give twice, 3 days apart.
For daily maintenance: give by mouth or on food, no more than 1 gram per 4.5 kg. Start with half a dose for 2–3 days, then increase to a full dose.
Throw away any food with gel that hasn’t been eaten after 8 hours, and wash the bowl.
Store in a cool, dry place. Consult your vet for advice on sick or very young animals.
Use Bene-Bac with Milk Replacers
Bene-Bac is widely used alongside milk replacers when hand-rearing orphans, helping them digest their formula and avoid tummy upsets. Pair it with PetAg KMR Kitten Milk Replacer for kittens. For larger animals or daily use, Bene-Bac Powder is also available.
