Finding the right fixture for a UVB tube can be confusing – this kit gives you both the hood and the lamp in one box, so your turtle or reptile can get the UVB it needs straight away. The built-in electronic ballast starts the lamp quickly and runs it at full power, while the polished curved reflector directs more UVB down into the tank. Its slim, low-profile design sits neatly on top of small turtle tanks and terrariums. Turtle Light Setup

Place the hood on top of the tank, above the basking area.
UVB can’t pass through glass or plastic, so keep it above a mesh lid or open top. Mesh covers reduce UVB slightly.
Pair it with a basking heat lamp, such as the Zoo Med Basking Spot Lamp, for warmth.
Run it for 10–12 hours a day on a timer.
Replace the ReptiSun 5.0 lamp every 12 months, as UVB output fades even while it still looks bright.
